Merck Millipore guava easyCyte benchtop flow cytometers
Merck Millipore has expanded its guava easyCyte line of benchtop flow cytometers.
The new guava easyCyte family of compact, single-sampler systems allows more scientists to move their research from the core lab into their own lab.
The instruments offer up to eight-parameter detection in a single-sampler format. The ease of use of these powerful instruments, combined with their small footprint, can give researchers greater insight into cellular functions and mechanisms at the single cell level.
The instruments complement Merck Millipore’s flagship line of high-throughput easyCyte 96 sampler flow cytometers.
Four guava easyCyte single-sampler models are available: two single-laser units capable of detecting five to six parameters and two dual-laser systems that can detect six to eight parameters. Dual lasers allow researchers greater flexibility in choosing different fluorescent dyes with well-separated emission spectra.
As with all guava flow cytometry systems, the new instruments utilise microcapillary technology that reduces the number of cells needed for analysis and the amount of waste generated - from litres per day with traditional approaches to less than 50 mL per day. Elimination of complicated fluidics gives guava instruments a small footprint and decreases user maintenance.
EasyCyte flow cytometers feature InCyte software that improves data analysis compared to conventional packages. InCyte software allows researchers to view, compare and analyse up to six data sets simultaneously, which enables faster analysis of multiple cell populations or multicellular events.
