High speed confocal systems

Introducing Nikon’s new series of confocal laser point scanning systems – the A1 series. The A1 dramatically improves time, spectral and spatial resolutions and realizes high resolution. The new ergonomic user friendly design facilitates live cell work and a huge array of new imaging strategies. The fully automated A1 offers the standard paired galvanometers with high resolution scanning of up to 4096 x 4096, with a standard speed of two frames per second (fps) for 512 x 512 pixels. A low angle of incidence dichroic mirror realises 30 per cent increase of fluorescence efficiency. Brighter images are obtained with the industry’s first continuously variable hexagonal pinhole – VAAS (virtual adaptable aperture system, option). Up to seven laser lines can now be included, with a choice of 405nm, 440nm, 460nm, 488nm, 514nm, 532nm, 543nm, 561nm and 635nm. A new fully automated 4-PMT confocal fluorescence detector is also featured, which enables simple onsite installation of emission filter and mirror sets. Fast fluorescence unmixing during image acquisition is possible in less than a second. Coherent Scientific www.coherent.com.au
