LabTech Systems undergoes name change, now LBT Innovations
Monday, 23 November, 2009
LabTech Systems, is now to be known as LBT Innovations after shareholders of the Adelaide-based technology company voted to change the name at the Annual General Meeting.
LBT Innovations’ CEO and managing director Ms Lusia Guthrie said in a statement that the sophistication of the internet was part of the decision to move forward with a change.
“It became clear to us that our profile was not distinct because of the number of companies in any internet search containing 'lab' and 'tech' and 'systems',” she said.
The new name was vetted by intellectual property firm, Phillips Ormonde Fitzpatrick, to confirm availability.
LBT Innovations is best known for its MicroStreak technology, a fully automated system for streaking biological samples on to agar plates. The technology is marketed by bioMerieux as Previ Isola.
