Serum-free formulation for HuMEC
Thursday, 26 April, 2007
Engineered specifically for culture of human mammary epithelial cells, HuMEC Medium is a serum-free formulation with frozen supplements containing growth factors and other components.
This translates to greater experimental validity, more reproducible results, and reduction of lot-to-lot variability and aberrations that can occur with the addition of serum.
Human mammary epithelial cells cultured in HuMEC Medium have gene expression profiles consistent with normal mammary epithelial cells, as tested on a cDNA microarray.
HuMEC Medium allows the culture of human mammary epithelial cells under conditions optimised for breast cancer research, providing researchers in drug discovery and other fields, greater insight into carcinogenic progression.
