Brain Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) is a member of the NGF family of neurotrophic growth factors and is a prosurvival factor induced by cortical neurons that is necessary for survival of striatal neurons in the brain. It is also required for differentiation of cortical and hippocampal GABAergic interneurons. BIOMOL International has introduced new BDNF proteins and antibodies for working with growth and differentiation factors in neuronal cultures and for receptor binding studies: proBrain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor-mutated (mouse, recombinant); proBrain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (mouse, recombinant); Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (human, recombinant); Anti-BDNF (rabbit pAb); Anti-pro-BDNF (rabbit pAb).
