White wells can improve qPCR results
Tuesday, 16 September, 2008
Every researcher doing real-time PCR always considers the components that affect the quality of their results. Eppendorf can demonstrate significant improvement of real-time PCR data by simply using a new PCR plate. With this new twin.tec real-time PCR plate, Titanium dioxide gives the reaction chambers a bright white, opaque colour. This leads up to a 10-fold increase in reflection of fluorescence, which provides better data for cutting-edge applications such as low volume or low copy number qPCR. Due to the more homogenous background of the white colour compared to clear wells, data from replicates become less variable. This results in lower standard deviation over a plate, which can be crucial to further process the data in multivariate analyses. Eppendorf Tel: 02 9889 5000 www.eppendorf.com.au/realtime
