xCELLigence cellular analysis
Tuesday, 16 September, 2008
Roche Applied Science, in partnership with ACEA Biosciences, has recently launched xCELLigence, a revolutionary tool for real time, label-free cellular analysis. Using impedance based technology, this non-invasive system allows researchers to dynamically monitor with continuous online measurements exactly what cells are doing over time as they interact with electronic sensors incorporated into the wells of 96 well microplates. The range of potential applications to the researcher are diverse and include, but are not limited to, receptor mediated signalling, drug- and cell-mediated cytotoxicity, cell adhesion and spreading, virus-mediated cytopathogeneity, cell invasion/migration and quality control of cells.
