Annual AusBiotech-GSK Student Excellence Awards open now

The awards are now open to all current life science, biology, biotechnology or bioengineering students of any Australian university and PhD candidates are encouraged to apply.
One student winner will be chosen from each state and receives a ticket to attend the AusBiotech 2012 conference, where the state winners will compete for the national title.
The national winner will be announced at the opening ceremony of the AusBiotech 2012 conference, Wednesday 31 October 2012. The national prize will include a $7,000 travel grant to be used by the student to present his/her research at an international conference and a $2,000 research grant to be used by the student’s principal supervisor.
Applications are now open online and close 2 July. State-based judging to shortlist 3 semi-finalists per state will occur in August and the judging to determine state finalist in September, with the winners announced publicly in 8 October.
