The R&D Tax Incentive replaced the R&D Tax Concession for all income years commencing on or after 1 July 2011 – and registration for the R&D Tax Incentive will open on 1 July 2012. AusIndustry has released a publication on registration requirements to help inform companies on what is needed and provides additional explanatory materials to help businesses complete their applications.

The approved application form, to be released in June 2012, will be a SmartForm that will help companies navigate through questions as relevant to their circumstances. Companies will only need to provide information on the questions that are relevant to them.

The ‘R&D Tax Incentive Application Form for Registration of R&D Activities’ will be available in June 2012 and the publication in registration requirements can be found here.
