AusBiotech delegation of CEOs to Parliament House

AusBiotech’s CEO, a number of its directors and 20 of its member CEOs and executives will tomorrow be hosted at Parliament House for this year’s CEO Forum, which will be addressed by a range of speakers on innovation policy and programs, including the Hon Greg Combet, Minister for Industry and Innovation, and Minister for Climate Change and Energy Efficiency and The Hon Catherine King MP, Parliamentary Secretary for Health and Ageing.

Attendees will receive updates on programs in the Department of Industry, Innovation, Science, Research and Tertiary Education (DIISRTE), Commercialisation Australia and the Department of Health and Ageing (DoHA), including:

  • The Innovation Investment Fund

  • The National Enabling Technology Strategy

  • The ‘Raising the Bar’ Bill

  • R&D Tax Incentive

  • Prime Minister’s Taskforce on Manufacturing

  • New provisions for Commercialisation Australia

  • Cleantech investment programs

  • Clinical Trials Action Group

  • TGA Blueprint

  • Advertising for registered therapeutic products

  • The TGA Reform Program, including progress in Health Technologies Assessment

“The Summit gives us, Minister Combet, Parliamentary Secretary King, the two Departments (DIISRTE and DoHA), Commercialisation Australia and the industry’s leaders, a valuable opportunity for dialogue on public policy issues that impact upon and will shape the future of the biotechnology industry in Australia,” said AusBiotech CEO, Dr Anna Lavelle.
