Australian biotech market today 26.03.09

The pharma and biotech index is up 2.35 per cent at 3.00pm on a generally positive day for the share market.

Cochlear (ASX:COH) is up 63c and CSL (ASX:CSL) is up 79c, while Resmed (ASX:RMD) has had smaller gains.

Progen (ASX:PGL) is up a bit on news of its share buyback. Alchemia (ASX:ACL) is up a touch to 29c and Genera Biosystems (ASX:GBI) is up 5c, both on the back of new share options.

Peplin (ASX:PLI) is up 4c on small trades while Sonic Healthcare (ASX:SHL) is up a cent to $11.32.

ChemGenex (ASX:CXS) is down slightly, as is Novogen (ASX:NRT).
