Medtech experts gather at AusMedtech annual conference

The official opening address was provided by the Hon Marie Ficarra, Parliamentary Secretary to the NSW Premier, Barry O’Farrell, who was well placed with an Honours degree in Science and many years experience in sales and marketing in the pharmaceutical and diagnostics area of healthcare.
Before being elected to the Legislative Council in 2007, the Hon Marie Ficarra was part of the team responsible for the introduction of new cervical cancer screening technology and worked with the cervical cancer vaccine in Australia.
AusMedtech brought together key stakeholders of the Australian and international medical devices and diagnostics sector, to discuss the major issues in global medtech success, with a focus on plotting the course to global success, targeting key commercial issues such as export opportunities, finance and investment, hot technologies and updates in the fields of IP, regulatory approvals, reimbursement and sales networks.
AusMedtech 2012 was supported by NSW Trade & Investment, the host state sponsor.
