Nanosonics expands reach for Trophon EPR
Nanosonics (ASX:NAN) has revealed it has certified a total of 458 probes for compatibility with its ultrasound probe disinfection system, Trophon EPR.
The company has accelerated its probe testing program over the last six months in response to increasing demand, Nanosonics said in a statement.
The number of approved probes has nearly doubled over this time, with 219 products from manufacturers Esaote, Hitachi-Aloka, Ultrasonix and Zonare added to the compatibility list.
A range of probes from GE, Philips, Siemens, Sonosite, Toshiba, BK Medical and Prosonic had already been tested for compatibility.
Nanosonics CEO Dr Ron Weinberger said this certification process is important because using an approved disinfection system is typically a condition of probe product warranties.
“Also, proving chemical and process compatibility between the Trophon EPR and the ultrasound system is a key sales enabler,” he added.
Last month, Nanosonics revealed it had won a major contract for Trophon EPR from US-based Scripps Health network.
Scripps has installed 21 Trophon EPR devices at its clinic sites as part of an initial rollout and plans to introduce more of the devices to help it transition to a fully automated process for ultrasound probe disinfection.
Nanosonics shares were trading unchanged at $0.455 as of around 12.30 pm on Monday.
