Nanosonics signs UK distributor for Trophon EPR
Nanosonics (ASX:NAN) has secured a new UK distributor for its Trophon EPR ultrasound probe disinfection system.
Toshiba Medical Systems will launch Trophon EPR in the UK this month. Nanosonics will continue selling the cabinets directly into the market.
Nanosonics CEO Dr Ron Weinberger said interest in Trophon EPR among UK sonographers and decontamination professionals has been increasing recently.
“This strategic engagement with Toshiba will give Trophon EPR greater exposure within this market and facilitate adoption of Trophon EPR as the standard of care in probe decontamination,” he said.
“It is early days yet and it will take time to build sales volume. However, the signs are encouraging that the UK operations will make an important contribution to global sales revenue.”
The cabinets are also available in Australia and New Zealand, and in North America through a distribution agreement with GE Healthcare.
Nanosonics last week announced it had nearly doubled the list of certified ultrasound probes tested for compatibility with the system to 458.
Nanosonics shares were trading 3.23% lower at $0.45 as of around 1.30 pm on Thursday.
