Heraeus Noblelight acquires Cathodeon
Wednesday, 22 December, 2004
Heraeus Noblelight has taken over Cathodeon. Through this acquisition, Heraeus Noblelight strengthens its 'Lamps for Optics and Analytics' division and complements the Laser lamp technologies of its UK subsidiary Heraeus Noblelight.
Cathodeon manufactures specialty light sources for UV spectroscopy, HPLC (high pressure liquid chromatography), atom absorption spectroscopy and other analytical measuring methods.
With this acquisition, Heraeus is able to significantly broaden its offering in the area of analytical measurement processes by complementing the existing quartz lamp technology with hollow cathode lamps and glass lamps. On top of that, significant technological synergies are realised in the planned close cooperation with Heraeus Noblelight, which specialises in laser lamps.
