Advantech has announced the release of the ADAM-4019+, an 8-channel Universal Analog Input Module. The new module is an improvement over its predecessor the ADAM-4019, it includes a 4~20 mA input range, and burnout detection function for detection of sensor failure.

The major feature of ADAM-4019+ is the ability to mix input ranges. This versatile feature supports individual configuration for each channel, saving costs and space where multiple inputs are required. Its 4~20 mA input range is ideally suited for analog and current control devices in industrial automation applications. Other input ranges including +/-10V, mV, and thermocouple are all integrated into ADAM-4019+.

Depending on the application the ADAM-4019+ can be setup to communicate in two different type of protocols using either the standard ADAM ASCII commands or Modbus/RTU.
