Leica Microsystems has released a series of digital microscopes that simplify microscopy. The series includes the Leica DM4000 B and DM5000 B for routine and research biological applications, diagnostics, cancer research, cell biology and biotechnology.

The Leica DM4000 M is designed for materials science applications in industry.

Intelligent automation allows the user to configure complex procedures, quite simply by pressing a button. The Illumination Manager replaces a time-consuming adjustment process for Kohler illumination. Researchers can concentrate fully and completely on their specimen with functions that remove almost all manual adjustments as the instrument immediately switches to the optimal settings. Even for multiple users, the instrument automatically adjusts to each objective and magnification used, saving each individual setting.

Effortless handling is combined with fine-tuned ergonomics allowing extended fatigue-free work. Leica offers the microscope, camera, image database and user software, for example, for fluorescence applications or materials analysis, as a complete package.

The user interface for controlling system components is straightforward and easy to use.
