TA Instruments has the AR 2000 advanced research rheometer with performance and convenience features. A fifth generation product, the AR 2000 can handle demanding applications in mobile and viscous liquids, gels, pastes, slurries and solid and molten polymers.

The AR 2000's high performance, drag-cup motor offers 1 µN.m to 200 mM.m torque range with very low inertia. An efficient porous carbon air bearing supports the shaft and sample measurement geometry, while a high resolution optical encoder allows detection of low strains (0.04 µrad).

Experiments can be performed over the dynamic frequency range 1.2 E-7 to 1.0 E2 Hz. Normal force capability (0.01 to 50 N) and automatic gap set with thermal compensation are included features. Standard operation modes are flow, creep, oscillation, parallel superposition, multiwave, torsion and squeeze flow. New temperature control systems (Peltier, convection/radiant, Peltier for concentric cylinder) allow sample analyses over a broad range (-150 to 600°C). Each incorporates Smart Swap technology for rapid, error-free connection to the rheometer and loading of all relevant calibration data. TA Instruments' full range of sample measuring systems is available for the AR 2000. Windows NT, 95/98 compatible Rheology Advantage software ensures performance and ease of use.
