Sercon IRMS-Liquid Chromatography Interface
For the analysis of compounds that are not amenable to gas chromatography, or to avoid derivatisation that may complicate the isotopic analysis, high-pressure liquid chromatography linked directly to isotope ratio monitoring mass spectrometers may provide the solution.
With the launch of its LC-I-20-22 system, Sercon has developed a novel and robust method of interfacing HPLC and the 20-22 IRMS that will improve analysis for compound specific research.
The system has been shown to provide robust conversion for even large molecular weight compounds and those that may be recalcitrant to persulfate oxidation. This direct conversion method also avoids any fractionation through diffusive processes that have hampered research on some molecules.
This technique provides the research scientist with an advantage in the areas of amino acids, sugars and other HPLC amenable compounds.
