The Shimadzu Nexera ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC) system is suitable as the front end for mass spectrometry, delivering the speed, resolution and reliability as well as pulse-free operation for the most demanding LC/MS(/MS) applications.

Because high-sensitivity analysis of complex samples is necessary, the front-end component for LC/MS(/MS) must decrease its carryover to zero. With a newly designed injection port and fine-tipped needle, along with additional features such as multiple-rinse solvent selection and injection port and internal needle rinse, the SIL-30AC autosampler reduces carryover to a minimum. The SIL-30AC also features an ultra-fast injection speed - just 10 s - as well as an overlapping injection function to allow for a maximum reduction in cycle time.

The LC-30AD pump features an automatic pulsation-correction mechanism and a high-speed parallel micro plunger design to provide pulse-free solvent delivery and high retention time reproducibility - even in ultra-high-speed gradient conditions. Moreover, a new mixer (MiRC), conceived from study of micro reactor technologies, delivers efficient, low-volume mixing for even the most difficult analysis, thereby minimising gradient delay.

Nexera’s modular components interact with the precision of an integrated system while allowing users to design and upgrade a system to fit their application requirements.
