Lonza Clonetics human intestinal myofibroblasts
Clonetics human intestinal myofibroblasts, cryopreserved at passage 2 with ≥500,000 cells per vial, are available. The recommended media kit is SMGM-2 smooth muscle growth media.
H-InMyoFibs share phenotypic characteristics of both fibroblasts and smooth muscle cells but do not express smooth muscle markers such as smoothelin, caldesmon or (in the normal colon and small intestine) desmin.
H-InMyoFibs play a fundamental role in growth and development of intestine, immunology, inflammation, fibrosis, water and electrolyte transport, contraction and wound healing.
They are a useful tool in general gastrointestinal research as well as: absorption studies and toxicology (oral medications), inflammation, fibrosis, water and electrolyte transport, contraction and peristalsis, wound healing, neoplasia and intestinal polyp formation, Crohn’s disease, toxicology and cytotoxicity and gene expression.
