ATSE appoints CEO
The Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (ATSE) has appointed Dr Trevor Evans as chief executive officer, commencing 1 July 2007.
Evans was chief executive of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), where he had a 30-year career leading growth and development of IChemE in Britain and internationally.
With a PhD in chemical engineering from University College London, Evans is an Honorary Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers, a Chartered Engineer, a Chartered Scientist, a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
Commenting on Evans' appointment to the position, ATSE president, Dr Robin Batterham said the Academy was delighted to have attracted a leader with such an impressive record in managing IChemE.
"We had a strong array of candidates with excellent qualifications and potential, but Dr Evans' experience and achievements made him an obvious choice to lead ATSE through an exciting period of development and change," Batterham said.
