Call for entries to the TRI National Prize

Friday, 19 September, 2014

Brisbane’s Translation Research Institute (TRI) is offering a national prize to recognise Australian research that has resulted in a technology or treatment to improve human health. The prize aims to increase Australian researchers’ ability to translate biomedical research into clinical practice by profiling those who have achieved this and learned from their experiences.

The TRI National Prize is open to researchers who have spent over 50% of their time working in Australia during the last five years. The winner will receive $25,000 and the opportunity to present to leading researchers and clinicians on their area of translational research at an awards symposium, to be held at TRI on 21 November 2014.

The institute is also holding the TRI Awards, which recognise and reward excellence in translational research and encourage collaboration among researchers working the TRI. There are four award categories:

  • TRI Translational Research Award
  • TRI Innovation Award
  • TRI Breakthrough Award
  • TRI New Collaborative Team Award

The selected winners in each category will be recognised in the national symposium and a video made of their award-winning research. Permanent acknowledgement will be recognised on an engraved plaque showcased in the TRI public space.

For more information and to enter the awards, visit http://www.tri.edu.au/tri-prize-and-awards. Nominations close on 10 October 2014.
