The Journey from LIMS to LBMS: a free seminar

InterSystems Corporation (Australia)

Tuesday, 20 September, 2016

InterSystems Corporation is holding a seminar to celebrate the launch of what it claims is the world’s first laboratory business management system (LBMS), TrakCare Lab Enterprise. The product is intended to respond to the changing nature of the laboratory environment, with many of today’s laboratory information management systems (LIMS) no longer meeting requirements.

According to InterSystems, modern, agile information systems that enable the lab to capture, share, analyse and act on vast amounts of detailed data will be required to run laboratories like a business. This is necessitating a new kind of system — a laboratory business management system — which will help customers transform from a reactive testing and results service to a proactive healthcare partner.

Attendees of InterSystems’ free launch events will have the chance to see a practical demonstration of the LBMS and learn how labs can have visibility and assume control and accountability over the entire testing process. Hearing from industry leaders Martin Wilkinson and Katie Davitt, they will find out how the lab can go beyond the limits of LIMS by:

  • supporting consolidation to fewer labs with specialist services and mutualised information, processes and businesses;
  • reducing the cost and interruption of continuous modernisation;
  • running a tighter business, with cost accountability for every test;
  • adopting agile workflows that balance lab efficiencies with patient-centric service;
  • extending information and process governance outside of the lab.

‘Going Beyond LIMS — The Journey from LIMS to LBMS’ will be held at the following:

  • 25 October — Melbourne
  • 27 October — Hobart
  • 2 November — Sydney
