Bertin Technologies Cryolys, Precellys 24 and Precellys 24-Dual for temperature-controlled homogenisation

Monday, 08 September, 2014 | Supplied by: Sapphire Bioscience

The Cryolys is a cooling system which keeps samples at 4°C during homogenisation - suitable for the extraction of thermo-sensitive molecules such as RNA, native-state proteins and metabolites. The unit is compatible with the Precellys 24 and Precellys 24-Dual.

The Precellys 24 and Precellys 24-Dual are powerful bead-based tissue homogenisers which use a figure-8 multi-directional motion to grind up to 24 samples in just a few seconds. With speeds of up to 6800 rpm and a choice of ceramic, metal and glass beads, users can customise the protocol for their samples.

The Cryolys technology shoots compressed air, which is cooled with liquid nitrogen or dry ice, into the homogeniser chamber, keeping samples cool before, during and after processing. With the Precellys-Cryolys combination, users can achieve high yield, quality and functionality of molecules extracted from their biological samples.
