Automated gentle tissue dissociator
The gentleMACS dissociator is a benchtop instrument for the automated dissociation of tissues. Two types of gentleMACS tubes used with the instrument enable the time-saving and easy dissociation or homogenisation of tissues in a closed system.
C tubes are used for the gentle preparation of single-cell suspensions from tissues, whereas M tubes are used for the homogenisation of tissues or cells. A single sample or two samples in parallel can be processed.
The instrument offers programs for a variety of specific applications. The standardised tissue dissociation or homogenisation procedures make for reliable and reproducible results.
Features of the dissociator include:
- Time-saving automated tissue dissociation;
- Standardised procedure;
- High-level of user safety;
- Sterile sample handling.
The dissociator in combination with C tubes is designed for the preparation of single-cell suspensions from various tissues. The tissue dissociation procedure is gentle to cells and yields cell suspensions with a high viability rate.
Single-cell suspensions are a prerequisite for many applications, including cell separation, cell analysis and cell culture. Various gentleMACS programs and protocols using C tubes are available, including dissociation of mouse spleen, mouse liver and mouse brain in combination with MACS neural tissue dissociation kits.
Homogenisation of tissues or cells is desired to extract biomolecules for molecular biology experiments. gentleMACS programs and protocols for the fast and thorough tissue homogenisation using M tubes are available for the isolation of total RNA or mRNA.
