Hoefer has introduced a line of Submarine Gel Electrophoresis units that are constructed of 6 mm heavy-duty acrylic and made to endure years of laboratory use.

Six sizes are available from quick screen 6 x 7.5 cm Mini Submarine gel units to high throughput 25 x 25 cm Maxi-Plus units.

A wide variety of combs are available, many of which are multi-channel pipette compatible. Colour-coded and height adjustable combs enable easy identification of gel thickness and control of well depth. Loading strips are included to assist in sample loading.

Many of these Submarine Gel Electrophoresis units include recirculation ports for buffer recirculation during electrophoresis to maintain buffer pH and prevent ionic gradient formation. The Maxi and Maxi-Plus Submarine Gel Electrophoresis units are available with a cooling base for improved temperature control.

The large format Sub25 gel tray has 12 positions to accommodate a maximum throughput of 624 samples. Gel casting is by a cast and turn method or through casting gates depending on the model. An external adjustable casting unit is also available which can be purchased separately.
