MBF Bioscience Stereo Investigator stereology system
MBF Bioscience introduces a major software update for its Stereo Investigator stereology system.
The system provides users with the means to make an unbiased quantification of the number, length, area and volume of cells, subcellular and macro structures in tissue specimens. It is a key research tool that has helped scientists to make discoveries in numerous areas of neuroscience, including neurodegenerative diseases, addiction, autism, neuropathy, memory and behaviour, as well as other research fields including pulmonary and kidney research, and toxicology.
This latest version offers significant improvements designed to streamline workflow and deepen research findings. Key enhancements include an auto-calibration feature to correct for camera rotation and establish lens calibration using this hands-free feature. The user can zoom in on the live-camera feed for more detailed observations when looking at tissues in live mode.
The system can also be used with the MBF Bioscience Vesalius Spinning Disk Confocal microscope. Analysis of images acquired with a confocal microscope is made easier and more efficient with the improved Optical Fractionator workflow.
The new stitching tool actively analyses image data to properly align adjacent tiles. Users can see data more clearly using the state-of-the-art background-subtraction filter; slide, scan and repair by easily replacing bad image tiles from slide scans; or resume a partial scan that was interrupted before completion.
