AgGenomics in JV with Horticulture Australia
Thursday, 26 June, 2003
AgGenomics, a joint venture between Genetic Technologies and the Victorian State Government's Agriculture Victoria Services, has entered into a two year collaborative program with Horticulture Australia to identify genetic markers in strawberries.
The $AUD2.1 million program will identify genetic markers that can be used to detect and isolate desirable genetic variations in strawberry crops to assist with future breeding programs.
The work will be carried out at Agriculture Victoria's Plant Biotechnology Centre under the direction of Prof German Spangenberg.
AgGenomics will also receive 55 per cent of the intellectual property developed during the life of the collaboration.
