AusBiotech web app for events makes its debut
Thursday, 17 May, 2012
As a further foray into social media and communication technologies, AusBiotech this week launched a web app at the AusMedtech 2012 conference that gave delegates access to all the event information in an easy and fun web format.
The web app works from devices’ browsers, whether it's an iPhone, Blackberry, Android, Windows, and even a tablet, iPad, laptop or desktop computer.
Delegates were able to access session details and speaker bios; network with other attendees; take password-protected notes on sessions and rate sessions; receive news alerts, and speakers took the opportunity to run real-time polls during sessions.
The app was a feature of Australia’s largest medical technology conference, AusMedtech, and was well received by the event’s 300 delegates earlier this week. The app will remain accessible in the coming weeks and can be viewed here.
Delegates embraced the new web app with great enthusiasm, and the app technology will now be made available at the coming AusBiotech 2012 (30 Oct – 2 Nov) in a more sophisticated version that allow delegates to find exhibitors. The app will also be available, as an option, to events managed by AusEVENTS, the professional conference organising arm of AusBiotech.
