Biotech’s industry conference returns to Qld: early bird about to close

Tuesday, 25 June, 2013

With early-bird registrations about to close (28 June), preparations have kicked into top gear at AusBiotech as the team prepares to return the industry event of the year to Brisbane, Queensland, from 30 October-1 November 2013.

AusBiotech 2013, the biggest biotechnology conference in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region, will again feature the agenda-setting speaking program and the world-class networking and partnering opportunities attendees have come to expect.

Draft program available

The 2013 draft program is now available to view online. The 2013 theme ‘bio-economy in transition’ will see the speaking program focus on the transformation of the Australian industry as it evolves and adapts to current global forces in an effort to grow the bio-economy.

Headlining the program is Professor Ian Frazer, former Australian of the Year and now director of the Diamantina Institute for Cancer, Immunology and Metabolic Medicine, who spent more than 20 years studying the human papilloma virus and developing the world’s first vaccine that helps prevent cervical cancer, Gardasil.

Student volunteer applications open

The AusBiotech Student Volunteer Program is dedicated to fostering student participation in the industry by getting involved in the premier biotechnology conference. Passionate biotech students wanting to learn more about the industry are invited to apply.
