Call for epigenetic abstracts
Monday, 16 July, 2007
Abstracts are being sought for a conference in Perth that will turn the spotlight on the emerging field of epigenetics.
The Epigenetics 2007 Australian Scientific Conference is being held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre from November 4 to 7 and will be opened by West Australian Industry and Enterprise Minister Francis Logan.
Scientific sessions will be presented by leading Australian and international speakers covering topics including chromatin structure and function, DNA methylation, epigenetic regulation of development, non-coding RNAs, epigenetics of human disease, epigenetic responses to the environment, and epigenetic technologies.
The conference aims to bring together bioscience researchers working on plants, fungi and animals, including humans, and has concurrent sessions with the 5th International Congress on Developmental Origins of Health & Disease.
Some of the world's foremost experts in epigenetics will present at the conference, including Andrew Feinberg from the John Hopkins Genome Center in Epigenetics; Charles Cantor, CSO of Sequenom; Thomas Jenuwein, from the Research Institute of Molecular Pathology in Vienna; and Thomas Gingeras, VP of biological sciences with Affymetrix and a member of the Encyclopedia of DNA Elements (ENCODE) project consortium.
Abstracts close on Friday, August 21 and will only be accepted via online submission at www. epigenetics2007.com
