Eye on emu for BioProspect
Monday, 11 May, 2009
Brisbane’s BioProspect is hoping to enter the human natural health market by purchasing Melbourne dietary supplement company Re-Gen.
BioProspect is close to commercialisation with its lead product, a natural solution for termites called Termilone, and is also developing a range of plant extracts for animal health and nutrition called Bioeffectives.
The company said in a statement that Re-Gen’s product range was a natural fit with BioProspect’s other products.
Re-Gen has developed a range of products, including purified emu oil, as dietary supplements and as a therapy for skin, muscle and joint conditions. The company already has approval to market seven products in China, and will be concentrating on this market as well as Australia and overseas.
BioProspect is currently doing due diligence and will make a decision within 90 days.
