Grants available to partner with Massachusetts life sciences companies

Thursday, 20 June, 2013

A new funding program has recently been announced by the State of Victoria and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to support joint research and development (R&D) projects.

The Building Global Bridges program provides grant funding to Massachusetts and Victorian companies to undertake joint late-stage R&D projects in the field of life sciences - biotechnology (health, agricultural, marine), pharmaceuticals, medical devices, medical diagnostics, veterinary science or bioinformatics.

Grants of between $100,000 and $500,000 are available on a 1:1 basis (that is, for each $1 of grant funding, the company must contribute $1). Grants will be awarded by the local jurisdiction in the local currency.

Application close at midnight on Tuesday 17 September. There is only one funding round.

For full details, including the program application guidelines, visit the Building Global Bridges website or email bgb@dbi.vic.gov.au.

Information on this program will be included in the AusBiotech briefing on Victorian Government Programs and Grants for Life Sciences on Tuesday 23 July 2013. Please visit https://www.ausbiotech.org/events/ or email sgunatilake@ausbiotech.org to register for this event.
