Griffith Hack attracts top patent attorney
IP firm Griffith Hack has welcomed the arrival of Dr Tony Davis as a Senior Associate to its growing Life Sciences and Chemical practice. He comes to the company with an already distinguished career as both a patent attorney and a biological researcher.
Davis has spent the last eight years honing his skills as a patent attorney at another well-known IP firm, FB Rice. During this time he acted for numerous international and Australian clients, including biotech companies, multinational pharmaceutical companies, research institutes and universities.
Davis has advised clients on therapeutic and diagnostic antibodies, protein display and expression systems, RNA interference, vaccines, transgenic plants and animals, and food technology.
His technical expertise and experience include postdoctoral research at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research investigating parasite enzymes as targets for drug discovery. Earlier in his career he developed his knowledge of parasitology at CSIRO’s Australian Animal Health Laboratory in Geelong.
Davis joins the team of Life Sciences and Chemical Principal Amanda Stark, who said she was “particularly pleased” to add him to her team.
Davis said he was “delighted to join the dedicated team at Griffith Hack and looking forward to working with some of the firm’s high-profile clients”.
