Consulting firm Innovation Dynamics has added a new string to its bow, after being granted an Australian Financial Services licence by ASIC.

The licence enables the company to undertake a financial services business, and to provide general financial advice on securities to both retail and wholesale clients. The company says it will now be able to prepare opinions on transactions and expert reports for companies seeking to list, or which are already listed, on the ASX.

Innovation Dynamics was formed in July 2004 by the merger of two consultancies, Canberra-based Advance Consulting and Evaluation and Sydney-based Aoris Nova, which had previously provided similar financial services advice under a separate licence. Aoris Nova founder Dr Kelvin Hopper is the responsible officer on the new licence.

Hopper is also co-author of the annual BioIndustry Review -- Australia and New Zealand, along with Innovation Dynamics managing director Dr Lyndal Thorburn. The next Review is to be launched in Sydney on February 21.
