iSonea wins Frost innovation award
iSonea (ASX:ISN) has been handed a US innovation award for its AsthmaSense Cloud mobile wheeze-monitoring technology.
The company has won a North American Frost & Sullivan 2013 Innovation Leadership Award for its AsthmaSense mobile app and the AsthmaSense Cloud data-tracking solution.
Frost & Sullivan industry analyst Vin Lee Nim said the app has the potential to improve patient adherence to asthma management techniques and lead to more diligent monitoring of risks.
“AsthmaSense app and AsthmaSense Cloud’s data compilation of users’ asthma events clearly illustrates the ‘cause and effect’ by mapping the lifestyle, environmental and physiological causes of asthma attacks,” he said.
iSonea unveiled AsthmaSense Cloud in March at the Asthma Foundation’s Tackling Asthma in Australia conference.
The company this month secured TGA approval for AirSonea, a wheeze-monitoring device that uses acoustic respiratory monitoring (ARM) technology and allows monitoring of symptoms via smartphones. The company plans to launch the product in the Australian market in the next few weeks.
iSonea (ASX:ISN) shares were trading 0.93% higher at $0.545 as of around 12 pm on Wednesday.
