Australian CRO Datapharm is building an international network of local CROs, aimed at challenging the outsourcing model for multinational clinical trials.

The Dai-Sys initiative, spearheaded by Datapharm, involves a collaboration of locally entrenched small to mid-sized CROs banding together to offer services to global biotechnology companies.

Dai-Sys promises to be able to help global companies cut down their R&D budgets and take better advantage of local expertise and contacts.

The initiative has members in around 18 countries spanning Europe, Latin America, Australia and New Zealand. CRO members include Datapharm, Altiora, MTZ Clinical Research, LatAm Clinical Trials, Larix and SynCro.

“We are currently in discussions with a number of companies regarding extending the Dai-Sys membership in Asia, Africa and North America,” Datapharm CEO Dr Helen Allars said. “We also want to hear from other CROs who may be interested in being involved.”
