Melbourne Pathology will be the first Australian laboratory to acquire PREVI Isola, based on LBT Innovations MicroStreak technology for automated agar plate streaking in microbiology laboratories.

Melbourne Pathology is a Sonic-owned laboratory providing services to GPs, medical specialists, nursing homes and private hospitals in greater Melbourne and regional Victoria.

LBT Innovations’ CEO and Managing Director, Lusia Guthrie, said, “This technology has the potential to radically change the way infectious diseases laboratories operate. It streamlines laboratory processes and gives superior results for patients. This is a huge step forward and we are thrilled that the system is now being installed in Australian laboratories."

The sale of the first PREVI Isola in Australia triggers a payment of $20,000 by LBT Innovations to Medvet Science Pty Ltd from whom the core technology was licensed.
