Collagenases (MMP-1, MMP-8 and MMP-13) and Gelatinases (MMP-2 and MMP-9) break down skin collagens contributing to ageing and wrinkling. The company offers high-sensitivity assays for screening collagenase and gelatinase inhibitors.

Hyaluronic acid (HA), which has strong water-binding activity, is a common ingredient in antiwrinkle products. Recent evidence suggests that lower molecular weight formulations (50-130 kDa) may be even more effective than higher molecular weight formulations, possibly due to improved penetration.
