Smooth operations with lab safety
The Laboratory Guide to Workplace Safety 2014-15 provides practical safety information and quick reference points for staff about the many safety procedures required when working in a laboratory environment.
This year’s edition offers information on chemical classification and labelling to support the process of identifying and evaluating detrimental chemicals that may cause harm. Specific procedures for handling certain chemicals, identifying hazardous chemicals and disposal and storage in the workplace are provided.
The guide also features sterilisation procedures in labs and personal protective equipment. The elimination of possible transmission of infectious agents to laboratory workers, the general public and the environment is outlined.
Available for free, the guide is produced by Pro-Visual Publishing in collaboration with Science Industry Australia and Australasian Laboratory Managers Association.
