Applications open for Early Career Researcher Showcase 2016
The CRC Association is inviting five early-career researchers to give five-minute presentations at the association’s annual conference ‘The Business of Innovation 2016’. To be held from 7–9 March 2016 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, the conference will explore the importance of business and industry working with science to create innovation, and how to foster these relationships.
The presentations will take place as part of the conference’s Early Career Researcher Showcase, which is open to all PhD and Masters students working on CRC projects. CRC Association Chief Executive Dr Tony Peacock said the presentation session is an eagerly anticipated conference highlight that is watched with keen interest by CRC research directors and industry partners.
“It’s a proud moment for the CRCs, because it really shows the incredible depth of talent among our researchers,” he said.
To enter the showcase, applicants will submit a 30-second video that pitches the significance of their research; the judges will then select five finalists. The winner will be decided by audience vote at the conference and will receive an award package (including travel fares and accommodation) worth over $10,000.
