Isoelectric focusing system

14 July, 2004 | GE Healthcare Australia Pty Limited

The Ettan IPGphor II first-dimension isoelectric focusing system delivers high throughput, speed, reproducibility, and high protein-loading capacity.

Mass spectrometer

13 July, 2004 | Bruker Pty Ltd

The Bruker Daltonics autoflex II TOF/TOF is a vertical TOF/TOF system, and offers almost all of the high-performance MS/MS characteristics of larger TOF/TOF systems, yet requires much less laboratory space. The autoflex II incorporates various performance, electronics and software enhancements, and can be optionally upgraded on-site to full TOF/TOF capabilities.

X-ray analysis

13 July, 2004 | PANalytical

Axios is a range of PANalytical WDXRF (wavelength dispersive x-ray fluorescence) spectrometers with applications and capabilities tailored to meet the needs of specific industries including manufacturing, mining, research, geology and environmental technology. Axios is robust - built to work in unforgiving, on-site industrial conditions so analytical performance is unaffected by heat and dust.

Plug-and-play pH electrode

15 June, 2004 | Endress+Hauser Australia Pty Ltd

The MemoSens pH measurement system provides a comprehensive solution that makes moisture ingress in the connections irrelevant, and removes the need for commissioning and maintenance.

Vented sterile flasks

15 June, 2004 | Interpath Services Pty Ltd

Vented closures are now available for all Nalgene sterile disposable flasks. The vented closures, made of HDPE, feature a 0.2 µm hydrophobic PTFE membrane that provides sterile gas exchange for shaker and suspension cell culture.

Portable spectroradiometer

15 June, 2004 | Warsash Scientific Pty Ltd

A compact and truly portable spectroradiometer, which is powered by a USB connection and provides NIST traceable data to yield CRI (colour rendering in-dex) characterisation, has been introduced by International Light.

Mixers

15 June, 2004 | Mauer Engineering

Powders, liquids and pastes can now be mixed within seconds with the dual asymmetric centrifuge (DAC)-SpeedMixer. Small material quantities (5-300 g) can be blended by the rotational movements of the mixer without having to clean any mixing elements.

Cell attachment

15 June, 2004

Corning's CellBind Active Surface is a novel and proprietary, non-biological, non-chemical, optimised surface treatment for better attachment and growth of anchorage-dependent cells.

SPE cartridge

14 June, 2004 | Phenomenex Australia

The strata-X Online SPE cartridge is designed for fast sample preparation. It uses strata-X, a reversed phase polymer SPE sorbent from Phenomenex. The sorbent is a polar functionalised styrene-divinylbenzene polymer that is capable of exhibiting hydrophobic, p-p, dipolar and hydrogen bonding retention mechanisms. The 25 µm particle has a surface area of >800 m2/g, resulting in an analyte capacity that is claimed to be higher than that of saliva-based sorbents. The strata-X sorbent is available in a 20 x 2 mm cartridge for convenient online processing.

Customised labwares

14 June, 2004 | Southern Cross Biolab Supplies

Southern Cross Biolab Supplies is able to help custom make labwares in PVC or metal even in very small quantities.

Quantitative PCR

14 June, 2004 | Merck

SYBR Green JumpStart Taq ReadyMix is available in both standard and capillary formulations. It combines the advantage of a hot start enzyme with a ready-to-use mix of SYBR Green 1, dNTPs and optimised buffer solutions.

Hydrogen leak test method

14 June, 2004 | Technical & Scientific Equipment

TSE is able to offer the range of hydrogen leak test products produced by Sensistor.

Convert HPLC to IC

15 May, 2004 | Grace Discovery Sciences

Alltech's suppressors and 650 Conductivity detector easily convert any HPLC into an IC system. Both suppressor models, the 640 and 641, are continuously regenerated with no need for extra reagents.

Portable autoclaves

15 May, 2004 | Medchem Pty Ltd

The Dixons range of port-able autoclaves has been designed for safety and reliability; yet is simple to use and easy to maintain.

Evaporative light scattering detectors

15 May, 2004 | ALPE Pty Ltd

SofTA evaporative light scattering detectors employ Thermo-Spilt technology in instruments designed with a flexible configuration, yielding real advantages in many common HPLC applications.
