Data collection and analysis for clinicians
07 April, 2009 byBioTek Instruments has announced a software tool for clinical laboratories using the ELx800 and ELx808 microplate readers. Gen5CL Data Collection and Analysis Software combines the convenience and security of preprogrammed clinical diagnostic assays with the power and flexibility of a PC-based application. The PC-based interface provides greater flexibility in data analysis and output options than onboard microplate reader programs, including LIS system compatibility and data/protocol storage.
CGH microarray software
07 April, 2009 byAgilent DNA Analytics 4.0 software can be used for visually exploring, detecting and analysing patterns in microarray data. New in this release are: the ability to analyse more than 100 samples per experiment, a free genomic browser and copy number variation (CNV) analysis capability. These features join existing chromatin immunoprecipitation-on-chip (ChIP-on-chip), array-based comparative genomic hybridisation (aCGH), and gene expression analytics capabilities.
Drugs of abuse analysis platform
06 April, 2009The EasyTox 2.5 GC/MS platform is suitable for routine drugs of abuse analysis. Incorporating the ToxLab Forms 2.5 software, the platform has been designed to reduce costs, increase sample throughput and improve productivity in forensic and clinical laboratories performing analysis of urine for signs of drugs of abuse.
Spectrometry analysis software
06 April, 2009 byThe Applied Analytics Eclipse Process 10 online analyser software has improved control over the detection system compared to previous versions, allowing for instantaneous user interface response. Simultaneous analysis and calibration methods (ACM) can also be configured with version 10.
Data evaluation software
01 December, 2008BioTek Instruments has incorporated parallel line analysis into the Gen5 Data Analysis Software version 1.06. Parallelism analysis can be made with Gen5’s linear regression, 4- and 5-parameter logistic fits.
Medical data internet to boost research
08 October, 2008BioGrid will enable researchers to share and aggregate data on diseases. They will be able to extract the de-identified data they need to test hypotheses using their own analytical tools.
Copy number analysis software
01 July, 2008The Nexus Copy Number Professional version 3.0 software provides complete data integration, allowing thousands of arrays along with their clinical annotations from any array platform, such as Agilent, Affymetrix, Illumina, Roche Nimblegen and Empire Genomics, to be loaded and processed in a single project.
Computational quantum chemical methods for drug development
08 January, 2008Natural-products chemists may be able to decrease the amount of time it takes for the development of certain types of medicinal drugs.
Bioanalysis software
08 March, 2006Thermo Electron has expanded its software for its Finnigan TSQ Quantum series of triple quadrupole mass spectrometers with LCQUAN 2.5 data acquisition system.
Differences in genetic database information could lead to misdiagnosis
14 February, 2006Inconsistencies among a growing number of genetic databases could lead to misdiagnoses of genetic disorders by health care providers, according to a study that appears in Cytogentic and Genome Research.
Statistical software for the developing world
10 October, 2005VSN International, developer of the GenStat statistical system, has launched a free version of its commercial software available to non-commercial users and not-for-profit organisations in developing world countries. GenStat for Windows Discovery Edition is available for immediate download from www.discovery.genstat.co.uk
Newborn screening software
14 September, 2005QuadraMed has completed implementation of a newborn screening laboratory information application for use with the company's Affinity Laboratory system by Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) in London, UK.
Detecting links between banknotes and drugs
10 August, 2005Research published in the journal Rapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry is the description of a method that can detect a pattern of contamination on banknotes from drug-related crime that is different from the pattern seen in general circulation. The process is claimed to be significantly faster than other previous methods.
Instrument driver
20 September, 2004A library of VIs allows dataTaker DT50, 500, 600 and DT800 range data loggers to be configured and queried from LabVIEW, giving a data logger hardware alternative for acquisition tasks.
