Lumiprobe offers a series of DusQ fluorescence quenchers with different spectral properties and functional groups for oligonucleotide synthesis and other applications.
Dark quenchers are non-fluorescent chromophores that can absorb excitation energy from a fluorophore and dissipate it as heat. Quenchers are widely used to synthesise oligonucleotides: hydrolysable DNA probes, molecular beacons and scorpion primers. The use of quenchers in these applications has many advantages: low background fluorescence and good signal-to-noise ratio; high dynamic range; possibility of multiplexing since quenchers have no secondary fluorescence; and straightforward synthesis of DNA probes since quenchers are resistant to degradation at the deprotection stage.
Lumiprobe’s DusQ fluorescence quenchers are distributed in Australia and New Zealand by Sapphire Bioscience.
