Many antibodies work well in one application but not in others, despite detecting the same proteins. Because the target antigen may be denatured or inaccessible, depending on the technique or preparation, scientists must search and test multiple antibodies for one application and repeat the process again for a different application.
ProSci has recognised this issue and has released its Risk-Free Antibody Sets. Each set consists of several monoclonal antibodies (20 µg each) against a single target, allowing selection of the best clone for specific applications. Antibodies were developed using recombinant proteins expressed in mammalian cells to best recognise the native proteins.
The antibody sets are available for the following targets: PD-1, PD-L1, PD-L2, CD80, CTLA4, TIGIT and LIGHT. They have been rigorously tested for their designated applications: ELISA, flow, ICC, IF, IHC, pairs and WB.
