Microplate handler and automation solution

12 March, 2007

The Twister II advanced microplate handler is more than a high-capacity plate stacker, it's a plug-and-play benchtop automation solution.

Plates for robotic handling

07 July, 2006

The Nunc 1536-Well High Base Plates are designed for high throughput screening laboratories. The plate's height provides a large area for secure plate gripping by automated systems and for applying barcode labels. These plates are suitable for cell culture analysis or assays involving luminescence, fluorescence or colorimetric reactions.

Dual mode gene expression microarray platform

07 July, 2006

Agilent Technologies has launched a dual-mode, one-colour/two-colour microarray platform, offering researchers flexibility and performance for gene expression research.

Microtitre plate washer

07 April, 2006

The Atlantis microtitre plate washer from ASYS Hitech (Austria) has automated and affordable aspiration and dispensing facilities for 96 or 384 well plate analysis to suit all laboratories using microtitre plates for routine assays.

Plate planning

16 January, 2006

Thermo Electron has achieved greater speed and efficiency in data archiving and plate planning with version 7.0 of Nautilus LIMS, the company's laboratory information management system for early stage discovery in biotechnology research and discovery.

SpectraMax M5 microplate reader

11 November, 2005

The Molecular Devices SpectraMax M5 is a five mode microplate reader with three mode cuvette port. It is a dual-monochromator, multi-detection microplate reader which features a triple-mode cuvette port and single-read command capability for experiments requiring multiple detection parameters. Using two scanning monochromators, the system also provides users with the flexibility to choose any wavelength between 200 and 1000 nm. The instrument uses standard microplates (6 to 384 well) to read endpoint, kinetic, spectrum, multi-wavelength and well area scanning.

Protein array

18 July, 2005

The HTS BioSystems FlexChip System provides an open, array-based platform for kinetic screening within academia and upstream exploratory research. The system will appeal to users who require the ability to simultaneously study the interactions of hundreds of proteins and peptides against a single sample. The FlexChip System utilises surface plasmon resonance (SPR) for label-free, real-time interaction analysis.

Large DNA microarray dataset publicly available

18 February, 2005

As the next phase of DTI’s Measurements for Biotechnology (MfB) program to 2007 gets underway, a large DNA microarray dataset generated by an LGC-led consortium during the first phase is now freely available online at ArrayExpress, a public repository managed by the European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI).

Microplate reader

16 August, 2004

Molecular Devices has developed FlexStation, a scanning microplate reader and fluidics transfer workstation that allows users to obtain real-time kinetic data milliseconds before and after fluid transfer events. The ability to perform microplate-to-microplate transfers, prompt kinetic reads and multi-wavelength detection options offers flexibility for drug discovery or research efforts.

Dolphin-View gel documentation system

16 August, 2004

The Dolphin-View image system for basic gel documentation is a standalone system that includes compact darkroom large built-in LCD monitor, on-screen touch panel, built-in operation software, 3.5" floppy disk, Epi-white light, 312 nm UV transilluminator and Dolphin-View band tool analysis software.

Cell attachment

15 June, 2004

Corning's CellBind Active Surface is a novel and proprietary, non-biological, non-chemical, optimised surface treatment for better attachment and growth of anchorage-dependent cells.

Microtitre plate closures

24 November, 2003

Chromacol WebSeal microtitre plate closures are available in two versions for use with round and square bottom microtitre plate wells.
