Tubing assembly
14 July, 2003 | Omnifit Ltd
Omnifit has developed a tubing assembly with leak-tight gripper fittings for fluid transfer in spectrophotometers. Each flow cell consists of a glass tube held in an aluminium housing. The requirement was for a PTFE tubing assembly with fittings that would seal to the glass surface of the flow cell while accommodating variations in the alignment between the cell and its housing. The dimensions of the flow cell tubing were 1.6 mm OD and 1.0 mm ID.
Portable digital vibrometer
14 July, 2003 | Warsash Scientific Pty Ltd
Polytec's portable multi-purpose non-contact vibration system, the PDV-100 combines optics and digital signal processing to measure surface vibration velocity without contact, utilising Laser Doppler Vibrometry (LDV) technology. The system yields good measurement performance, ease of use and long-term calibration stability in a portable and robust package.
Ductless fume cabinets
14 July, 2003 | Gallay Medical & Scientific Pty Ltd
The Captair range of ductless recirculating fume cabinets is suitable when the installation of a fully ducted system is difficult or uneconomical within an existing work environment. Duct route, exhaust location or existing walls can make a ducted system too expensive and complicated.

Microdialysis probes and accessories
16 June, 2003 | Global Scientific Pty Ltd
Microdialysis monitors the chemistry of individual tissues by mimicking a blood capillary. Using a CMA Microdialysis probe filled with perfusion fluid, chemical substances are transported to and from the tissues through a dialysis membrane attached to a catheter. Depending on the substance, this can reflect either local (eg, glycerol) or systemic (eg, glucose) metabolism.
