Selective agar supplements

08 April, 2009 by

CHROMagar Microbiology has released three selective supplements for use with CHROMagar Orientation media.

Vibrio identification

07 April, 2009 by

V. parahaemolyticus, V. vulnificus and V. cholerae genic bacteria, which can cause serious seafood poisoning. For the detection of those bacteria, conventional methods (TCBS) are long, require a heavy workload and are not very sensitive.

Mesenchymal stem cells media

07 April, 2009 by

Invitrogen has launched a serum-free media (SFM) designed specifically to culture mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), or stem cells derived from bone marrow. Stempro MSC SFM is claimed to overcome many challenges in MSC culture. In concert, Invitrogen also launched two kits designed to allow the differentiation of MSCs to either adipocytes (fat cells) or osteocytes (bone cells).

Xeno-free culture substrate

07 April, 2009 by

Cellstart is a fully defined, completely animal-origin-free substrate for the attachment and expansion of embryonic, mesenchymal and neural stem cells.

Hanging cell culture inserts

06 April, 2009 by

Hanging Millicell cell culture inserts are available pre-loaded into 24-well receiver trays. The pre-loaded assembly saves time and labour across a range of experimental protocols.

Petrifilm culture plates

01 January, 2009

Petrifilm culture plates come in an easy, ready-to-use format, with each batch coupled with a Quality Assurance Certificate from the 3M ISO 9002-certified manufacturing facility.

Bacteria isolation

01 July, 2008

ChroMagar Vibrio can differentiate between V.parahaemolyticus, V.vulnificus and V.cholerae pathogenic bacteria, which can cause serious seafood poisoning.

Cytogenetics media and reagents

04 June, 2008

AMCELGROW Medium from ID Labs is optimised for the primary in vitro culture of human amniotic fluid cells and chorionic villi (CV) samples in open (5% CO2) systems. These primary cultures can then be used for such cytogenetic procedures as karyotyping and FISH.

Improved mesenchymal stem cell culture

06 July, 2007

The new MesenPRO RS Medium is a reduced serum (2%) medium specifically formulated to support the growth of human mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) in culture. MesenPRO RS Medium consistently improves MSC expansion compared with conventional serum-supplemented media. Using MesenPRO RS Medium, MSCs can be expanded for multiple passages while maintaining their multi-potential phenotype (ie, differentiation into osteogenic, chondrogenic and adipogenic lineages).

Automated culture media preparation

12 March, 2007

The AES Chemunex Masterclave 09 for culture media preparation features an extra large magnetic stirrer and high precision core temperature control. The Masterclave 09 lets users rapidly prepare 1-9 L of high quality culture media.
