Comprehensive document control
09 August, 2006 | OnQ Software Pty Ltd
Documents are the life-blood of business, used to define processes, specify products, record transactions and communicate with customers. Today's quality standards require that documents and records are accessible, traceable and can withstand scrutiny and audit. Traditional manual methods of document control carry a significant element of risk. Electronic control can provide a secure, convenient solution, and WinDocs is a package from Quality Systems International (QSI) designed to deliver comprehensive document control at an affordable price.
Confocal microscopy

EMCCD camera
09 August, 2006 | SciTech Pty Ltd
The EMCCD camera from Andor, the iXonEM+ combines photon collection efficiencies of up to 95% QE with single photon sensitivity through virtual elimination of the read noise detection limit. The range offers multiple readout speeds up to 35 MHz, 14 and 16 bit digitisation and benefits from negligible dark current with thermoelectric cooling down to -100°C. Andor's vertical clock parameters ensure that clock induced charge (spurious noise) is low. Rapid vertical clocking ensures the frame rates are fast and smear is minimal.

Live cell manipulator
07 July, 2006 | Applied Nano Technologies
Laser tweezers are non-contact tools that use light to trap, move and fuse particles, cells or organisms. An infrared laser beam is focused through an objective lens to create an intense optical radiation field. The resulting photon pressure at the surface of the particle or cell enables the operator to move the cells at will, sorting, separating or collecting the cells as required. By combining the system with an ultraviolet laser, cells can be cut free of surrounding structures enabling micro dissection. Where two cells have been trapped by the laser tweezers, the ultraviolet laser can be used to cut the cell membranes allowing the cells to fuse together. A similar process enables operators to insert particles into the cell, for example fluorescent beads, or to perform targeted transfection into the cells of DNA or proteins.
Laboratory labelling solutions
07 July, 2006 | Brady Australia Pty Ltd
Brady Australia Pty Ltd has simple, effective and affordable labelling solutions for identifying and tracking laboratory samples. These products meet four current labelling needs associated with sample container tracking: sizing, legibility, durability and increased information requirements. These challenges are met by barcoding the labels, allowing researchers to include more information, labels that "match" existing vial, slide and well plate sizes, labels that are always legible, durable under extreme conditions including freezer storage, liquid nitrogen, autoclave and hot water baths and are resistant to solvents.
